Images of B2 Domus Model

After about 30 hours of solid work while listening to my dated music collection, out team produced a model that i think we were all happy with in the end. I just hope someone noticed the scoring on the card made to look like decking, or else i want those two hours of my life back.

Recreation Of Original Tabilum Design

Below are images of a 3d model i made of my Tabilium design, which was lost in the studio. I this model today to provide an accurate representation of my concept in context.

These are images of the location of the tabilum concept

The Design was based on the Qantas skybed for its practical use of space and the Frank Gehry's Easy Edge wiggle side chair. Both of which allowed for the sleek, practical and simple to construct design. Considering only the head and shoulders are enclosed when sleeping, i also sought to blur the lines between what we consider to be acceptable as both a sleeping and working space.

3d model of original MINIMA Design

I thought i would make a rough 3d model of the original design to further develop the concept of this minimal space. this model gives a better idea of scale of the model. Bathroom area is not present as i did not feel it was necessary to recreate.

These are original Images of the model taken before the presentation

These are the original posters for the Minima Presentation. I learned a valuable lesson on sticking to your original idea, as i decided to redo the concepts page with not enough time to spare. (Excuse the side on images as the computer would not allow me to rotate them)

Team B2 Domus 3d Model

Here are some images of the 3d model i made for the B2 domus project some of which didnt make it into the final presentation because they do not look architectural enough. In this forum however they are useful to provide an understanding of what the space would look like in real life.
An image of the site would have provided a better idea of the context of this image

Making mud bricks

B3s Domus design is a made brick construction (bricks made from the earth we will excavate). This short clip demonstrated how each brick is made using a simple cast for uniformity.

Final Project - notes

Gound Level

First Floor

-Maximisation of north facing windows. This helps get the lower winter sun into the building providing both warmth and light.
- The open spaces provided between the levels allows for greater communication between the inhabitants and a greater sense of connection. As students we like to be near other students.
- A number of living spaces are provided. One at each end of the building, as students we also like to be away from each other at times. The single large sliding door on the bottom level separates the two areas. Perhaps the living area with the kitchen is a more home type area, as the other living area is connected to the work area.
- Materials – Timber cladding and LVL beams and column
