One of the obsticles I faced when developing this design was the mechanism that would allow the moving level travel up and down. This was because it had to be able to be controlled when you are both sitting on it and standing under it. After experimenting with mechanisms such as pulleys and scissor lifts I came up with a manual hydraulic system like they use in dentist chairs/hairdressing chairs/tattoo chairs/operating table.
